Sam has it. We’re beyond lucky he had the replogal in because it allowed us to see something was wrong almost immediately.
The pediatric surgeons and GI doctors have all been briefed with the latest. Again, we’re lucky. It’s not a surgical issue yet, hopefully never will be.
He’s on his 4th platelet transfusion; his body can’t keep up while he’s fighting this. They’re most likely putting in another PICC line to get him the fluids and medications he needs.
We’re thankful right now, but we’re constantly reminded about how life threatening NEC is and can be. Babies who are just days away from discharge have gotten it and died. I’m thankful my favorite nurses are here today/tonight and all weekend. We need the best people caring for him.
We’ll get through it. Just a few steps back.
Gosh I cannot even begin to imagine the ups & downs parents face with preemies in the NICU….I’m sure it’s WAY worse than any parent can imagine. I think of you guys and pray for you often. Praying that little Sam pulls through this!
God Bless,
Cathy
Thinking of you guys and your beautiful boys. We’re sending you all our best juju!!! ❤
Like many other folks, we’ve been praying for Sam, and you guys. We’re keeping it up.
Thank you Paul
did he lose his central line? i hope not, considering what was neccesary to put it in. the multiples forums on ff are all keeping up with and thinking of you!
No, he thankfully still has it. They had to put in a few more IVs to get him the fluids he needs right now.
Praying for your boys (and you!) as always!!!
I am praying for Samuel. I wake up two times last night and pray for him.
Thinking of you and S – keep fighting little guy!
