Had the booster Betamethasone shot today at Fairfax. It’s used to stimulate fetal lung maturation (prevention of IRDS), and to decrease the incidence and mortality from intracranial hemorrhage in premature infants (src).
Dr. Bronsky pretty much confirmed what Dr. Baschat said….if I make to to 28 weeks, I can plan to be hospitalized for daily monitoring. At that point, both babies should be viable. Now we’ve just got to decide where I want to go.
In other news, we went car shopping this evening. Looked at Chevy Traverse, Ford Flex, and the new Ford Explorer. Going to start haggling tomorrow. I was a bit disappointed in the Traverse — I like the Acadia, but it’s just too expensive for what it is, so that’s out. The Flex was a lot nicer than I was expecting. Ford’s come a LONG way!!!! I was leaning toward a Honda Pilot, but for the conditions we drive in, the PIlot has the worst braking distance and cornering, so it’s out. We need something that will help us stop from deer crash incidents!
